Wavell Hinds
 Wavell
Hinds is the ultimate utility player, he is a belligerent
left hand batsman, who has opened the batting with Chris Gayle, he also
bats anywhere in the order, is used as a wicket taking medium pacer and
a stand-in wicketkeeper. Wavell Hinds made his test debut for West
Indies at Kensington Oval in 1999-2000 batting in the number 3
position. He had early success in his debut match scoring an
exceptional 165 against a quality Pakistan pace attack featuring Wasim
Akram and Waqar Younis.
Wavell Hinds has been mention as a possible West Indies captain,
however his inconsistentcy at Test level mean he cannot command a place
in the team. Hinds is seen as one of the shrewder thinkers and
analyst in the West Indies dressing room and is always a wise head to
which the captain can turn in times of need.
