Pedro Collins
 Pedro
Collins left arm seam bowling has provided much
needed variety to the West Indies bowling attack. He has caused
problems for opposing batsmen, especially those deliveries naturally
slanted the across the right-handed batsman. This has become even more
noticeble since he has mastered the ability to bowl the inswinger.
Unfortunately, Pedro Collins was
troubled by back and arm injuries for the latter part of 2000 which put
him out of action for a year before his recall for the 2001
tour of Zimbabwe and Kenya where he regained his Test place. He
returned to the West Indies team during the 2002 home series against
India where he took the wicket of India's star batsman Sachin Tendulkar
on three occasions, including twice for "ducks".
Pedro Collins was plague by
another career threatening injury to his back, this injury
forced him to missed most of the 2005 season. He was recall to the West
Indies team for the 2006 home series following injury to his younger
brother Fidel Edwards.
