Gayle's Onslaught Destroyed Bangladesh and send West Indies Into The
Main Draw Of ICC Champions Trophy

Gayle is rated among the top allrounders in One Day International
cricket, today he scored his 13th One Day International century as West
Indies completed their second convincing victory to get into the main
draw of the ICC Champions Trophy. This followed a massive victory over
Bangladesh by 10 wickets at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.
Opening the
batting with Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Gayle's onslaught contain 11 fours and three
sixes in an undefeated 104 from 118 balls and shared an unbroken
opening stand of 164 as West Indies went on to win with 13.3 overs to
spare. Chanderpaul known for his reliability supported Gayle
well to finished undefeated on 52 from 104 balls.
The
day began with Bangladesh needing to win to stay alive in the
competition, but after winning the toss and deciding to bat Bangladesh
lost an early wicket when Mohammad Ashraful was Lbw to Taylor in the
5th over. A second wicket partnership of 85 between Nafees and Aftab
gave Banglesh a glimmer of hope but after losing Nafees Bangladesh's
collapse as they lost nine wickets for 76 runs
The final total of 161 was never going to be enough on a pitch that was
dry, devoid of grass and bounce. Gayle and Chanderpaul ensured that it
wasn't and the 10 wicket margin of victory was comprehensive.
