Indies Received A Champions Welcome In Ahmadabad

Lara and his West Indies team arrived in Ahmadabad from Dehli yesterday
to a champions welcome. A reception was on hand to greet the team as
they moved into the hotel.
The West
Indies is the defending champions in the ICC Championship Trophy having
won the title in 2004 at the Oval in England. This years
Champions Trophy begins with the preliminaries on Saturday, however the
West Indies play their opening match on Sunday against Zimbabwe.
Lara
made it clear that the West Indies intended to retain the "mini World
Cup" trophy won 2 years ago. He stated, "we tried some experiments the
DLF cup, in this series there is no question of experimentation in the
Champions Trophy. Experiments are done keeping in view the importance
of the match as and tournament.
