Ian Bradshaw
Ian
Bradshaw
brings a level of stability to West Indies cricket. Bradshaw is a
former West Indies under 19 cricket captain and a Barbados senior team
captain. His descipline approach the game weather batting or bowling is
refreshing in an era of West Indies cricket where players seem not to
put much though into their unfield decision making. Ian
Bradshaw
uses a wide array of variations to cause self doubt in batsmen, induce
false shots and generally outsmart them into surrendering their
hand.
He has been a dutiful toiler for Barbados for eight years, during which
time he has picked up just under 150 wickets and made, what many felt
was a belated debut for the West Indies in 2004.
Bradshaw's elevation the West
Indies Test team in the Janurary 2006 series in New Zealand is just
reward for a hardworking and dedicated cricketer. He is very much an
under-rated batsman, he is capable of frustrating the best of bowlers
with his clean hitting and straight bat as he buffers the score card.
Bradshaw's thoughfulness was evident in the match winning performance
he orchestrated along with wicketkeeper Courtney Browne to seal the
West Indies victory in the final of the ICC Champions Trophy at The
Brit Oval in September 2004.
Bradshaw's form with the ball has been on the decline going into this
year World Cup, but his position on the LG cricket ratings still remain
the best of any of the West Indies bowlers.
With this in mind he is expected to play a major role with the new ball.
