With this feat Lara join Sir
Donald Bradman as only the second player in the history of Test cricket
to score two triple centuries. The
first tripple century being 375 which broke Sir Gary Sobers record in
1994 also against England.Lara

incredible ability to set records, when on the 2005 tour to Australia
he eclipse former Australian captain Allan Border to become
the alltime leading run score in Test cricket
He was reappointed for
an unpresedented third time in April 2006 to captain the West Indies in
the 2006 Digicel home series. This follow the resignation of Shivnarine
Chanderpaul as captain after an unsuccessful thirteen months at the
helm, in which the West Indies won of fourteen Test matches.
Despite faltering in One Day
Internationals Lara's batting in Test cricket remain
absolutely
brilliant. His two centuries in the recently concluded 2006 Test series
in Pakistan remain a testament to his genius. Lara continues to
accumulate records his most recent, achevement being the only West
Indian batsman to pass 10,000 runs in One Day International cricket.
Lara recently announce that he
will
retire from One Day Internationals after the 2007 World Cup; however he
will continue playing Test cricket until his 40th birthday.
